Introduction to Round Robins
The Whale Tank Round Robins is a dedicated session where Whales, investors and navigators engage in in-depth conversations with the finalist companies. This unique opportunity allows you to interact directly with the innovators, ask probing questions, and offer valuable feedback that will help them navigate the sector. Insights from diverse stakeholders will help drive meaningful impact across the entire clinical research sector.
Pitchers:
After the Pitch Sessions, companies will engage in more in-depth discussions during the Round Robins. They will be assigned to specific rooms where they will meet with a mix of judges, Whales, investors, and navigators. These discussions provide an opportunity for more detailed feedback on their solution.
Round Robin Judges (Whales, Investors, Navigators):
Judges in the Round Robins will include the same Whale Judges from the Pitch Sessions, as well as additional stakeholders. During these sessions, the focus will shift to one key question:
How valuable might this solution be as an investment of your time, resources, or expertise?
Whales: Would you invest time to explore or implement this solution in your organization?
Investors: Would you consider making a financial investment in this company?
Navigators: Would you invest your mentoring time and expertise to help this company succeed?
Facilitators (Navigators from Whale Tank Committee):
There will be a facilitator in each room who will stay throughout the entire session to ensure smooth transitions and facilitate discussions.
Round Robins Session Breakdown (12:00 PM - 1:15 PM):
Each company will have a dedicated 25-minute slot.
20 minutes will be an in-depth Q&A with the company.
After the Q&A, there will be a 5-minute debrief where the judges will discuss and evaluate the company without the company present, and rotate to the next company.
Matchmaking Huddle (1:15 PM - 1:30 PM):
At the end of the Round Robins, there will be a 15-minute Matchmaking Huddle. During this time, judges will share whom they’d be interested in having follow up meetings with.
