We spend a lot of time thinking about how difficult it is for a patient to navigate a clinical trial. Unfortunately, patients face a challenge even before the trial begins. For many, simply finding a clinical trial can be an impossible barrier to entry—fragmented systems, competing recruiters, and confusing dead ends plague what should be a straight forward process.


Steve Walker brings 30 years of experience on the sponsor side and over the past year, he has helped bring together industry, academia, and advocacy partners to rethink how patients find their way into research.

About Steve Walker

Steve spent more than a decade as a teacher and social worker prior to a career shift to medicine and vaccine development. He has 27 years of experience in clinical operations, project management, regulatory and medical affairs. This experience was gained through both regional and global positions at GSK and CSL.

Steve is fortunate that in his current position, he is able to think about ways to make clinical research more efficient and try to implement ideas that are developed with colleagues both inside and outside the pharmaceutical industry.
